(In spanish and english below).

Tactical Super-Compensation.  A very important concept to take into account in our week of work or cycle.

Very often, in my case, since I am not only Coach but Physical Trainer and was taught as such, learned to structure my micro-cycle or week of work following the guidance of the methodology I was using at the time (Was ATR, Integrated Micro-cycle, Structure Micro-cycle of Francisco Seirul-lo of F.C. Barcelona or Tactical Periodization now).
Personally, the last two methodologies have been what have allowed me to see what was at the time invisible, and be able to observe, something that at the time I was not able to see since I was organizing all of my work according to the Physical Loads and had an obsession with them.

Regularly I would modify aerobic conditioning exercises, Alactic Anaerobic exercises and strength were constantly modified as the constant evaluations to try to measure the players level of strength, speed and endurance.

The tactical work would be done, in the spaces where the physical work would allow us. Fortunately, by being Physical trainer and knowing the capacities I was able to integrate many of the exercises that would fit in my tactical parameters.
The structure of the micro-cycle or week was strictly physical or based on the Physical dimension of Football.

As a result, the day following the match, we would do low level aerobic training , totally out of context of the game of football, the next day rest, and the whole week would be organized according to the methodology that we were using at the time.
As it is popularly known, in the ATR Methodology we would alternate the different physical capacities and we would do it in a more radical fashion with a lot of emphasis on the physical load.

In my opinion and without a doubt, I can not say that this way of work is not good or efficient, but rather that We would obtain many good results but paying the price or at the expense for losing others.
That was my curiosity and search of finding a more suitable way of working and kept searching until I came about Tactical Periodization , that we have been using for several seasons now.

By using the methodologies I explained before, the main part of the week would be based on the Physical Dimension. Everything was organized according to the Physical Load, and basically was that which began to accelerate the search for different paths.
One of the main things that made me question what I was doing was strictly this. In certain moments of the week, I would notice that the footballers, being in the youth level or professional level were  not able to absorb the information.

On this happens once, you may think that it is the person who receives the information (player) , but when this repeats itself over and over again you begin to question yourself and begin to see that it is you and not them the problem.

As we Know the process of compensation it is when an living being receives a Stimulus,  the stimulus produces in this being a response or reaction, if enough time is given,  the organism-being adapts and if more time is given the organism would become stronger than receiving the stimulus in the first place (super-compensation).
This process is very well known and it is mentioned in almost every book of Sports Physiology –training there is.

By organizing the week of work emphasizing the physical super-compensation only, I was not taking into account, the information and how I would dosify it during the week. As a result, I was not considering the process of Psychological-Mental Supercompensation.

I WAS NOT CONSIDERING THE MENTAL-EMOTIONAL  LOAD THAT AN OFFICIAL MATCH HAS OVER THE FOOTBALLERS AND THE PSYCHOLOGICAL LOAD OF THE EXERCISES.

As a result, first since the exercises were very intense, the level of difficulty could not be very high because if it was, they would become very difficult for the players to execute and the level of stress I would generate on them would be very high.
The execution of the exercises would be very stressful and difficult, and what would happen is that I would have to repeat exercises or create new ones where we worked certain concepts or behaviors.

Obviously for lack of personal maturity, I could not tell that the problem was me and not the players.

The other problem, was that I would not dosify the information correctly that I was giving my players.

Tactical information or corrections of our team was not given in the correct time and was not absorved by players as contra-tactical information (of the other team).
Knowing that when you give the player certain information, what days it is not convenient because their brain is saturated from the match that they had the day before or even 48 hs after and they are not ready to receive information at that time and when it is more convenient to do it.

Mental/Psychological Supercompensationt is a very relevant issue that personally, I have learned  by reading and studying different articles guided by Professor Vitor Frade who I think is one of the true “maestros” of modern football.
